Although the title of the post may seem unusual to you, the reality is that it is a disease that continues to spread through many tourist establishments, hotels, and golf courses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I understand the situation and the comments of many professional colleagues in the sector, who in these boom years have seen hundreds of event proposals from organizing companies<\/strong>. How easy is it? They request an event<\/strong>, you quote<\/strong>, coordinate<\/strong>, and execute<\/strong> the service. But does anyone wonder how much it costs to organize that event? And what happens if there are fewer and fewer organizing companies<\/strong> for events<\/strong>? Should we just sit back and wait? Well, it seems that many are following that posture, waiting for a call or an email request to arrive.<\/p>\n

However, in cycles of low activity<\/strong> or “little joy”<\/strong> in the request for events<\/strong> by specialized companies<\/strong>, what are we waiting for the complexes themselves to launch into developing them? Or is it that, as I mentioned in the previous paragraph, we have to wait for them to appear in our email inbox.<\/p>\n

Organizing an event is still an attraction to capture clientele, and consequently generate income in your establishment. Can’t you think of anything to create sales hooks<\/strong>? I am sure you all have the tools to organize them; if you like, I leave you some examples by department of ideas that could be carried out:<\/p>\n

F&B Restaurant Department<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The ideal situation is to live on the real street, or have a hotel<\/strong> or golf course<\/strong> full of clients, where your function is to provide service. Otherwise, we will have to find a way to attract all those clients.<\/p>\n

Suggestions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n\t
  • Organize wine tasting workshops<\/li>\n\t
  • Tapas workshops<\/li>\n\t
  • Cooking workshops<\/li>\n\t
  • Use direct sales representatives to use your establishment as a meeting point<\/li>\n\t
  • Contact speakers for the use of your restaurant<\/li>\n\t
  • Cross-selling with the rest of the departments in your complex<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Regarding this specific department, I always usually mention this, specifically with those located in hotels<\/strong> or golf courses<\/strong>. They are the only ones that upon opening their doors have a list of clients who will pass through the doors of your restaurant or bar<\/strong>. Why not take advantage of this opportunity<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

    Rooms Department in a hotel or golf course<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Every mid-range hotel has meeting rooms or areas enabled for them, just like the areas adjacent to the clubhouse of a golf course. If, as developed in the line of this post, we have few event requests, why not create them?<\/p>\n

    Suggestions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n\t
    • Networking events<\/li>\n\t
    • Business meetings for companies<\/li>\n\t
    • Training programs<\/li>\n\t
    • Gaming competitions<\/li>\n\t
    • Sample exhibitions<\/li>\n\t
    • Painting or sculpture exhibitions<\/li>\n\t
    • Dance contests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      <\/p>\n

      For all these ideas, of course, we have to contact professionals dedicated to carrying out this type of activities, but who undoubtedly need a space where they can do it and where they can gather their audience<\/strong>. Difficult? No one said it would be easy, but this is the situation and we have to know how to take advantage of our resources.<\/p>\n

      SPA or Gym Department<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      I think this department has fewer problems, due to the nature of the activities that give meaning to its existence. No one imagines a gym without classes, much less without the activities we have all seen in some promotional brochure. However, we can take actions that help increase the number of clients<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      Suggestions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n\t
      • Offer your classes to hotel guests and encourage them with exclusive promotions for guests<\/li>\n\t
      • Your teacher or monitor is the salesperson. Motivate them to interact with clients in the hallway, lobby, or clubhouse<\/li>\n\t
      • Organize sample tours or open house days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        <\/p>\n

        The very nature of this department means that they have to carry out this type of activities<\/strong> to generate the desired traffic<\/strong>, but as we have discussed, there are still ideas left to materialize.<\/p>\n

        My intention is in no case to “lead” these suggestions<\/strong>, and I will surely leave other departments and actions that could be carried out in the pipeline. The reason is much simpler, and from my humble opinion and experience, to share these ideas with all of you, and if possible, to awaken the spirit of many professionals in this sector to organize their own events.<\/p>\n
